I recently bought this product for my Garmin Nuvi 765T gps. It works very well with it. It sits on my dashboard without moving at all. I would highly recommend it.

Where the Light Gets

The most common complaint about this release is its sound quality. I didn’t find it to be as problematic as it’s been made out to be. Yes, the non-musical atmospheric sounds (footsteps, coughs, etc) are more audible than on most recordings, but no more bothersome than what you’d normally encounter live at the theater. The microphones favor the orchestra, reminding me of many Karajan opera recordings where the voices, though not treated as an afterthought, are certainly relegated to the background. I was impressed with the excellent video quality of more than 20 years ago.
A starry cast indeed, I found Domingo and Ghiaurov at the top of their game. For Bruson, whose talents and rich Verdian voice I have always admired, this was an off night. Mirella Freni is simply miscast as Elvira. She seems terrified the entire time, looking as if she’s wondering whether she’ll get over the next vocal hurdle, and relieved when she gets through it without a major disaster. I felt like watching someone walk the tight rope. I enjoy Muti’s conducting very much and for that reason it is particularly frustrating to cope with his Puritanical treatment of the score as written for the premiere. Leaving out (since you can’t call it “cutting”) two big numbers for Silva and Ernani is not easy to forgive. Both were written by Verdi and both added to the score by the composer himself.
The production is nice to look at and these are, after all, some of the top performers of the day putting on one of Verdi’s most tuneful operas. Yet if you’re only going to have one Ernani DVD (and sadly it’s not like we’ll ever have a wide range of choices), I would recommend the Met recording with Pavarotti over this uneven release (which includes the musical numbers Muti discarded).

My wife and I went through 4 different digital bathroom scales before buying the EatSmart. We are delighted that our search is over. This scale is quick, very accurate, and most important of all, it eliminates guesswork (best two out of three readings, or the same reading obtained three times, etc.). If you’ve been searching for a digital scale that works and are frustrated with the results so far, this scale is for you. I highly and confidently recommend it.

Stylish & functional. What more could you ask for? Bought on a friend’s recommendation. I couldn’t be happier with it. I get even more satisfaction knowing I have bought a quality product from a small company who stands behind their product. Worth every penny!

Yes, I am another one of those suckers that didn’t pay attention to the one star reviews for this item. I wanted to save a few bucks. I got this Transcend SDHC card for a Fuji HS10 camera and took several hundred photos with it. I really wanted to test it. It worked fine. For a while.

Then, at a conference, after I had taken about 300 photos with it, mostly of slide presentations, a major glitch happened. I had accidentally hit the record video button on the camera, and so I moved to delete this unwanted video. Now, I had done this “delete” function a number of times on the HS10 camera, and never had a problem. There is no way on the HS10 to accidentally delete ALL of your photos all at once with this delete button (you can do that only if you go through the main menu and activate the “format” function).

As soon as this video got deleted, this card decided that the rest of the stored photos, some 300 of them, also no longer existed.

Bummer. Fortunately the great Amazon 30-day warranty was still in effect, and I had saved the packaging. I ordered a Sandisk SDHC 30Mb/sec card (which does not run much faster on the HS10, by the way). Yesterday, the Sandisk card arrived, and so I sent this Transcend card back to Amazon today for a refund.

If you look at all the Amazon reviews, about 20% of the reviews (one star to three star) make some comment about the unreliability of this Transcend card. Can you believe that Amazon actually sells this thing? Just think, what if 20% of one brand of new cars sold in this country stopped running days to months after the purchase? Would anybody sell those cars still?

Now, the Sandisk card is about 2.5 times more expensive than this card, so I’ll be REALLY upset if it starts to misbehave also.

Low priced HDMI cables doesn’t mean poor video and sound quality. There is a nice article with Cnet that explains the in and outs on HDMI and in there opinion you don’t need a thicker shielded cable unless you are running a cable from one room to another. Basically don’t get over charged for for a HDMI cable you only running in short distances around you entertainment center.
Hamara Khandan

I purchased this, like many others here, to replace a more expensive Tanita that does calculus and also weighs. When that one started to fail, I replaced it with the EatSmart scale. The EatSmart looks nice, is accurate, is not expensive, and best of all–has a nice large-digit backlit display that is easily read while you’re on the scale.

This is one of those rare books that catches your attention from the get go and holds it there with such a simple but moving story line with great character development.
